TOPIC--Dismantle, re-assemble, test and repair a pendent holder.

Material Required.-- Two pieces of wire; supply wires ; bulb Pendent holder.

Tools Required.-- Insulated combination pliers, connector screwdriver ; insulated nose pliers.

Dismantling-- Open the cover of the holder. Loosen the screws of the terminals with screw driver and

remove them. Hold the pins with nose pliers. Separate the pins, washers and springs. Remove the ring of

holder.

Re-assembling--. To re-assemble it, put the spring in the holes of the boulders. Keep the watchers on the

springs. Pass the pins of holders through the washers and springs. Tighten the terminals with the pins at

the back by holding the pins with nose pliers. Tighten the screws with the terminals. Tighten the cover at

the back and ring at the front of the holder.

Testing- Connect the two wires with two terminals of holder by removing the cover and tightening it

back. Fit the bulb in the holder. Connect the supply wires to the two wires of holder and switch on the

supply. If lamp gives light then it is correct. If it does not give light then check for the following defects

( i)Broken twire at the terminals.

(ii) Low tension of the spring due to which pins press and remain down so that bulb points do not make

contact with pins properly.

REMOVALS OF DEFECTS-lChecks the wiresand conductors. If the springs do not function properly oil

them and replace. Ifcovor is broken replace it Ifany screw is missing, get another one and tighten them.
